Samsung Galaxy owners en masse use the same terrible password
We all know that the stronger the password, the harder it is for attackers to gain access to our accounts. But Samsung phone owners seem to be starting to forget this valuable lesson. A new study has found that more Galaxy users are using the same terrible passcode on their smartphones.
NordPass, a password management software company, conducted a study of the most commonly used combinations. It turned out that the word ” samsung ” is one of the most popular passwords in at least 30 countries. And, apparently, this disturbing trend is only growing.
According to NordPass, the password ” samsung ” was the 198th most used password in 2021. The following year, this word rose to 189th place, and in 2021 it took 78th place in the anti-ranking.
Using a brand name as a password is a bad decision, but at least not as bad as the word “ password ” that many people in English-speaking countries sin. Believe it or not, “password” is still the most popular password in the world. Even “12345” and “123456789” are used less frequently.
You cannot use a trademark or similar primitive words as a password – with the help of special software, hackers open them in a minute. Yes, coming up with a complex combination for all accounts can be a hassle, but to keep all the information safe, it’s worth it.
