But now Rostec decided to curtail all these plans.
It is easy to guess the reasons – this is the outflow from the country of large foreign suppliers of telecommunications equipment, including Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei. Developing something new in conditions when key manufacturers refuse to work with you is not a trivial task. In such conditions, all resources are aimed at preserving the old.
Therefore, while they will support the work of more priority 4G LTE networks, this course has already been confirmed by the Russian mobile operators MegaFon and Tele2. In general, Russians have no luck with 5G. First, there were problems with the 3.4-3.8 GHz frequency range, which was occupied by law enforcement agencies and did not want to give it away, and now there is no equipment for 5G at all.
When the situation will be resolved and whether it will be resolved at all is unknown. There is a possibility that by that time 5G will lose its relevance and you will have to jump straight to 6G. Although such a “jump” without the deployment of 5G networks will be extremely difficult to implement.
