When did hydrophilic oil appear?
Such products have gained great popularity thanks to Asian makeup artists and the widespread use of Korean cosmetics. However, the tool was developed much earlier, the first mentions are dated to the 60s of the 20th century.
Composition of hydrophilic oils
Most often, the products contain cosmetic and mineral oils, emulsifiers, vitamins and a set of fruit acids. But there is no water in their composition.
Emulsifiers-reactors, surfactants, which are necessary for mixing oils with water. Under normal conditions, it is impossible to mix oil with water, even if the mixing is intense. The introduction of an emulsifier helps to wash off the product from the skin.
It is believed that skin care cosmetics that contain oils lead to clogged pores. When they are used, a film forms on the surface of the skin, which prevents cells from breathing and clogs the pores.
But, unlike conventional oils, hydrophilic does not have such properties just due to the emulsifier. The protective film of the skin is not broken, the pores are not clogged. In accordance with this, after washing with hydrophilic oils, there is no feeling of tightness, dryness. Therefore, such products can be used even for owners of dry and sensitive skin.
Owners of oily skin are suspicious of the use of such products. But there are no strict contraindications, it all depends on the composition. Hydrophilic oils are rich in lipids that actively dissolve sebum, decorative cosmetics, including silicone-based ones. And make active movements when washing off creams and other cosmetics is no longer necessary. And then there is no greasy shine.
